Simple Homemade Chocolate Coffee Creamer Recipe

This homemade chocolate coffee creamer is the perfect thing to convert your morning coffee into an delicious morning treat! And, with just a few substitutions, it can easily turn into a keto friendly indulgence!

Ingredients
  

  • 2-2.5 Cups Heavy Cream (or 3.5-4 cups for keto friendly version)
  • 2 Cups Sugar (or 2-3 cups erythritol)
  • 1.5 Cups Skim Milk (omit for keto friendly version)
  • 3 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • Almond Extract (Optional)
  • Espresso Powder (Optional)
  • Peppermint Extract (Optional)
  • Vanilla Extract (Optional)

Equipment

  • 1.75-2Qt Enamel Saucepan
  • 1 Silicone Spatula
  • 2 Wide Mouth Mason Jars (pint)
  • 1 4 oz Mason Jar
  • 1 Milk Frother

Method
 

  1. First, pour heavy cream into saucepan. Place over medium-low heat.
  2. Add cocoa powder to cream and use milk frother to mix together.
  3. Once cocoa powder has been well incorporated to cream, add sugar. Stir with silicone spatula until sugar is dissolved.
  4. Keep a careful eye on the cream/cocoa powder/sugar mixture, and stir occasionally until it starts to look a little frothy and begins to simmer.
  5. Once contents begin to simmer, immediately turn off heat.
  6. Add skim milk to the saucepan. Use silicone spatula to mix well.
  7. Transfer to a storage container and refrigerate. Use within 7-10 days.

This recipe includes a list of optional ingredients.  While you can mix and match some of these ingredients, I do not recommend using all of them at once.
